Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native, born in Houston on 17 April 1972. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. She graduated with a chemical engineering degree to follow her father. Then she moved in New York in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. The restaurant she worked in was as well as appearing in Broadway plays. Her cameo was in the television series "Felicity." (It it was on that show where she first met her husband Scott Foley.) Her breakthrough came with the action-thriller "Alias." Her debut lead role as a character was the highly acclaimed romantic comedy "13 going on thirty." The film starred her as the role of a teenager caught locked in the body the 30-year-old. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to create the film. Together, they looked for new projects to do until Winick passed away in 2011. Garner was made an ambassador for artists by Save the Children U.S.A. The role entails encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States in addition to early childhood education. Garner is a board member for this nonprofit organization since the year 2014. She advocates early childhood education. She is an ambassador of the Early Steps to School Success Program. She coaches parents on the best ways to assist their children in learning.
